On Thursday morning June 20 the three amigos set
out as early as they could manage (about 7:30 AM) with the Grand AM
fully packed with provisions for the journey. Making their way through
the "Show-Me" state they dined on hand-packed sandwiches
and later feasted on the sight of the St. Louis Gateway Arch.
Thinking no sight could surpass the prowess of the
arch, our turgid trio was astounded when they came upon Metropolis,
the home of Superman!
After a brief encounter with the man of steel, the
companions continued on their way to the Land Between the Lakes near
Paducah, Kentucky, where they camped for the night.
